Super Fast Acid Dye for Wool for hard-to-dye protein fibers like wool, mohair, feathers and more. The colors have been specifically selected for their colorfastness and affinity for wool. Unlike typical acid dyes, the SuperFast Acid Dyes are all premetallized (also known as “metal-complex dyes”). Premetallized dyes strike faster than any other dye and are regarded as having maximum washfastness and lightfastness properties, making them especially well-suited for wool.

These colors dye easier, wash longer and do not migrate once fixed. This means it is especially important to agitate constantly when immersion dyeing, as the dyes strike fast and do not self-level.

Because the dye molecules are complexed with metals (usually cobalt, copper or chromium), the molecules are especially large and heavy, which is what gives them their unique electro-chemical properties. However, this does not mean they are unsafe or bad for the environment when used properly.
