Pineapple fiber fabric - Pineapple silK

To make the pineapple fabric, the leaves are first collected and the upper layers are removed since there are long layers of fiber underneath. Then it is washed, brushed and left to dry, the ends are joined together to make a long and continuous thread, they become skeins and they are woven like a cloth.

The new textile companies have begun to study it, which means that it is now becoming a different type of fabric as a whole.

This fabric is an excellent sustainable alternative to classic fabrics, and does not use any aggressive chemical that could damage the environment or cause problems for its workers.

It is truly inspiring that we are recovering traditional methods of creating materials that are sustainable and generate employment. Pineapple fabric has become more popular than hemp in some cases because it is softer when mixed with cotton and silk, and it is also a much lighter and more luxurious material.
