What is felt? It is a non-woven fabric that comes in a sheet form and is not made by interlacing warp and weft but by layering and pressing animal hair (usually wool) and/or a similar synthetic material through steam and pressure.
Felt is a material highly valued in sewing for its lightness and malleability, which is why it is often used in skirts, jackets, carpets, and, of course, hats and wide-brimmed hats. For this, it is usually mounted on a lining that provides some structure.
In case you didn't know, non-woven fabrics or non-woven textiles (TNT for its acronym) are made by bonding fibers together into a network through mechanical, thermal, or chemical processes. As its name suggests, these fabrics are not woven; that is, they lack a warp or weft.

BEACH WIDE-BRIMMED HATS OR BEACH WIDE-BRIMMED HATS
Beach wide-brimmed hats or beach sun hats are a type of women's hat characterized by its large brim, which can be straight or have some undulations. They are usually made of natural fiber wide-brimmed hats or natural fiber sun hats such as straw or raffia, as these materials insulate well from the heat and effectively block sunlight.
The aforementioned features make them ideal for use on very sunny days. This is why the wide-brimmed hat or sun hat is also known as a beach hat.
WHAT IS A MILLINER?
Milliners are artisans dedicated to the manufacture, repair, and/or sale of hats.
To make a hat, the first step is to select the material to be used for manufacturing and cut or shape it according to the reference hat block. Then, a special iron is used to define the shape of the hat, and if necessary, starch the brim to stiffen them. Finally, it remains to give the hat a final touch, such as the external ribbon or to add other ornaments like bows or flowers.
A typical repair that a milliner might do is to renew the inner lining of the crown. For this, it is carefully removed, immersed in solvent, and scrubbed to remove dirt. Another simple operation is to replace linings, ribbons, and deteriorated ornaments with new ones.
The golden age of millinery was the 19th century and much of the 20th century. Nowadays, hat usage is not as common, so the few who continue this craft cater to a more affluent clientele or the world of film and theater.
WHAT IS A HAT? WHAT TYPES OF HATS ARE THERE?
Hats are accessories that serve to block sunlight and keep the head cool or warm depending on the material they are made of. Used for centuries by both the common classes and the upper classes (the latter as a prestigious complement), there is a vast variety of types of hats adapted to the social standards of each era and the particular needs of each season.
Although there are many very different types of hats, all of them have two main elements: the crown, which is placed on the head, and the brim, located at the base of the crown and that serves to protect the face and neck from the sun and/or to hold the hat.
The size and shape of the aforementioned elements can vary greatly, which gives rise to different varieties of hats. In our online store, you'll find, for example, Panama hats, bowler hats, Fedora hats, cowboy hats, boater hats, top hatsor chimney pots... The list goes on!
