WIDE RANGE OF FIMO PRODUCTS AND MORE
The original recipe was developed in 1939, and since then, the formula has been continuously improved, creating new similar products, each with unique characteristics. In our online store, you will find many of them. For instance, the FIMO effect modeling clay is known for its bright and vivid colors, and it's suitable for children over 8 years old. On the other hand, FIMO professional modeling clay is ideal for artistic works that require delicacy and great detail, as it has a firmer and, therefore, more stable consistency. With it, you can create sculptures or filigree jewelry with confidence. At Artipistilos, you will also find many accessories and tools that will help you make the most of these products, such as blades, cookie cutter molds, and figure molds. WHAT IS STAEDTLER?
We know that this section of our store is about Fimo products, but before we talk about them, we must discuss the company responsible for this product line, the Staedtler brand. You may not recognize the name of this company, but it's almost certain that at some point in your life, you have used one of their star products. Perhaps you're even using it right now! It's the famous black and yellow striped pencil with the red end. Indeed, Staedtler (its full name is Staedtler Mars GmbH & Co. KG) is an international German company dedicated to the manufacture of writing and professional drawing instruments, as well as other craft-related products. The name of this company corresponds with the surname of its founder, Johann Sebastian Staedtler, who on October 3, 1835, received permission to produce charcoal, red chalk, and pastel pencils in his factory, thus founding the J. S. Staedtler company. However, this surname's connection to pencil manufacturing dates back to 1662, when a pencil manufacturer named Friedrich Staedtler was alive. It's a company with a long history!
FIMO MODELING CLAY
Staedtler has evolved significantly in its nearly 200-year history, including in its catalogue new types of products related to the crafts and stationery sector. One of these is Fimo modeling clay. FIMO is one of the most popular modeling clays on the market, whether for use in school, at home, or in a workshop. It's a very easy-to-model material that, once hardened (either in the oven or air-dried), can be sanded, drilled, polished, or varnished. To keep the modeling clay in good condition, it is important to store it properly depending on its type. Air-drying modeling clays should be stored in an airtight glass jar with two or three spritzes of water. Meanwhile, oven-hardening clays should be ideally stored in aluminum foil or PE bags in a cool, dry place.
