"The art of laser-cut materials."

Laser cutting and engraving have enabled hatters to use

materials normally regarded as unsuitable for headgear, such as

plywood, some plastics, rigid and perspex leather, leather, felt,

and new technological textiles. In this course you will learn

how to create or decorate headdresses using laser-cut materials. You'll also have an understanding of how to create your own style and laser cut with design.

We will teach (using video) how to laser cut and then you will have

the opportunity to create a headdress with more than 20 designs already cut using

leather, perspex, vinyl, cardboard, felt, plywood or thermoplastic lined with silk.

You will enjoy using these new materials and learn how to

handle laser-cut materials using heat, steam, pressure, etc.

During this course you will finish 2 headdresses and several samples with different finishes.
