The British designer for High Society shall visit Artipistilos on October 23rd, 24th and 25th 2017, in a double Masterclass dedicated to the noble materials: Jinsin and Abaca Silk.
ABOUT JUSTINE BRADLEY-HILL
Justine Bradley- Hill is a British milliner with an eclectic, luxury vibe with more than 20 years of experience as innovative designer, besides 12 years of experience in millinery.
Starting her education at Huddersfield Technical College 2004 she continued in Leeds College of Art. After having received her BSc (Hons) Degree as well as the City and Guilds Level 2, Level 3 in Creative Arts she has specialized in Millinery and HNC in Millinery from Leeds College of Art.
Her effort were well compensated with her debut collection being shown at London and Paris Fashion Week.
Her designs are regularly featured in both national and international press; Justine Bradley-Hill has quickly become a very sought after milliner and works with an extensive list of clients and stylists and a number of British celebreties including the Royal Family. Princess Beatrice and Zara Philips are loyal customers.
Her bespoke, handmade hats and fascintators are created in her studio in Yorkshire, Great Britain.
Justine brings innovative design to traditional techniques and with a background in textiles, her expertise is in the materials she works with and how she translates into stylish wearable silhouettes – unique and very wearable, exclusive pieces.

MASTERCLASS 1. – ABACA SILK
The elegance of Abaca Silk.
Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th
Abaca silk is a noble fabric whose main characteristics are the brightness that gives it its natural finish and the flexibility that allows to design incredible forms.
One of the objectives to be achieved during this day will be to learn “How to make a flower with Abaca Silk”, in addition to creating a wide range of works by practicing various techniques: a large flower, bows and arcs. During the second day you will not only learn pleats, folds, twists, etc. but we will also practice the different methods of dyeing.
Finally, we will plot the Abaca obtaining as a result a spectacular headdress as the culmination of the course.
MASTERCLASS 2. – JINSIN
How to work Jinsin, the material of sculptural curves.
Wednesday 25th
At the end of these two days we will have mastered the methods, tricks and techniques necessary for the handling of this beautiful and versatile material.
We will perform pleats, twists, folds and a thousand sculptural forms to later plot and to obtain a fabulous and original headdress that we will be able to take home with us.
We will learn different methods of dyeing and draping, to see the interesting effects of this material when going through this process.
During these two days, the assistants will create their own pieces that will serve as a sample and reference for future creations with which they will undoubtedly surprise their customers.
